Art of 2017 Video

So, I actually uploaded this a while ago, and I meant to make a post featuring the video not long after I uploaded it, but that didn’t actually happen until right now. Heh heh. A lot of the art in this video are the free requests I did, so you Awesome Readers have already seen those. But, there’s also some art that I did in-between doing requests, so there is some new stuff in the video. Anyway, here’s the video if you Awesome Readers would like to watch it:

And now for the other reason I’m making this post. So, as some may remember, I was once doing a Nuzlocke in Pokemon Emerald, which unfortunately got cancelled because I lost the data for it. Anyway, in that nuzlocke I had a Poochyena named Pepper, and I drew her for the first time in around 4 years (goodness, doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that I was doing my nuzlocke) the other day. So, I decided that I wanted to post both the old drawing of Pepper, and the new one so you awesome readers could see them. So, first up is the old one from 2014:

I also just feel like pointing out that the lighting is everywhere on this one. Although, other than that, it’s not too bad considering how old it is.

And here’s the one I drew the other day:

So, yeah. Practice really does help with art!

Anyway, that’s about all I wanted to show you Awesome Readers. Later!

Trainer Strawberry: Chapter 1

I stepped out of the moving van and looked around.

So this is Littleroot Town.

It was a little smaller than I had expected, but that didn’t matter to me. This was where I was going to begin my Pokemon journey around the Hoenn region. A few weeks ago, I had received a letter from Professor Birch asking me to come to Littleroot Town. He was looking for people that where interested in becoming Pokemon Trainers and traveling around the world. Apparently, he needed some help filling up his Pokedexes. So he had sent out some letters to everyone between the age of 10 and 20, asking them to answer a few questions, then to send the letter back to him after they had answered. Whoever seemed best suited to be a Pokemon Trainer by their answers would receive another letter from him. And I got his letter. I was so excited, I could see the headlines now “Pokemon Trainer Strawberry defeats Champion”. Everything started now, and I had no idea what to expect.

I walked into my new house, the Vigoroths where busy moving my stuff into the building. I spinned around slowly, taking everything in. This was it, this is where my Pokemon and I would return to when we had completed our journey. As I walked back outside, I noticed a package in the mailbox.

That’s strange. I just moved here, who would send me a package?

I took the package out of the mailbox, and looked at the return address to see who it was from. But there wasn’t a return address there. Next I checked the address that it was sent to. Yep, it was definitely  addressed to me. Carefully I opened the package. Inside it was a clock, but not just any clock, a Pikachu clock. Immediately I went back inside and upstairs to my room to hang it up on the wall.

After setting the clock, and admiring it for a few minutes, I realized that Professor Birch was probably waiting for me. But I had no idea where his lab was.

Looks like I’m going to have to get directions from one of the locals first. Oh, well. This just gives me a good reason to go introduce myself to my new neighbors.

I went to the house right next to mine. It turned out to be Professor Birch’s house, talk about coincidences. I knocked on the door.

A middle-aged woman answered the door.”Oh, hello. You must be our new neighbor. If you’re looking for my husband, Birch, he’s not here right now. I’m not really sure where he is, but my son, Brendan, might know. He should be upstairs in his room. You can go on up to meet him, if you want.”

I thanked the woman, and entered the house. It looked similar to mine. The only real difference was that this house had everything in place, and the Vigoroths where still unpacking the stuff in my house. When I went up the stairs, the first thing I noticed was that there was no one there. Once I took a closer look, I spotted a Pokeball on the floor. I reached out to touch it.

Is-Is that the real thing?

“STOP!” a voice from the stairs yelled, “DON’T TOUCH THAT POKEBALL! IT’S MINE!”
Suddenly a boy about the same age as me picked up the Pokeball.

“O-Oh, sorry,” I apologized, I felt a little embarrassed. So much for a good first impression. I sighed inwardly.

“Eh, don’t worry about it,” the boy said while waving his hand as though he was swatting a fly. “So, you’re our new neighbor, huh?”

I nodded my head, “My name’s Strawberry. It’s nice to meet you…”

“Brendan. Welcome to Littleroot Town, Strawberry. Anyway, Mom said you were looking for Dad.”

“That’s right.”

“Well, that’s too bad. You just missed him, he went out to Route 101 to do some research. Oh! That reminds me, I’m supposed to help him with that research! Well, it was nice meeting you Strawberry!”

With that Brendan ran down the stairs and out the door faster than I thought humanly possible. I decided to go to Route 101 too. The sooner I met Professor Birch, the better.

*Later*
“HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!” a voice from who knows where shouted. Suddenly, a man dressed like a Pokemon Professor exploded from the bushes, behind him was a Poochyena in hot pursuit.

“Excuse me! I see you’re kinda busy, but are you by chance Professor Birch?” I asked the man that was running in circles.

“Yes, that’s me!” Professor Birch responded, “Quickly, my bag should be lying around near you, pick a Pokemon from it, and get it to take care of this Poochyena!”

I looked around and spotted the Professor’s bag. I walked over and looked inside, there where three Pokeballs. I reached in and pulled one out.

Well, I guess I’ll just throw one, and hope it’s something good.

“Go, Pokeball!”

“Mud, Mudkip,” the strange, little, blue Pokemon cried when it popped out of the Pokeball. Then it turned around, looked at me for two seconds, then turned its head to the side and stuck up its nose while making an offended noise.

I don’t think this little guy likes me very much.

“Mudkip, please. You have to help Professor Birch.”

The little Pokemon looked at me again, only this time I could tell it was studying me. Then it turned back around to face the Poochyena.

“Does this mean you’ll help, Mudkip?”

“Mud, Mudkip,” Mudkip nodded its head up and down.

“Alright then! Mudkip use Tackle!”

“Muuudddddkip!” Mudkip tackled into Poochyena with everything it had.

The Poochyena fell on its haunches, the shook its head and sat there dazed for a few seconds. When it came to its senses, it quickly got up and ran away.

“Good job, Mudkip.”

“Mudkip,” the blue Pokemon sounded a little bored.

“Thank you for saving me,” Professor Birch said as he walked toward us, “You must be Strawberry, I see you’ve already chosen your Pokemon.”

“What? Oh, no. I didn’t pick…”

“It’s great that you chose Mudkip, I could never get that little guy to cooperate with me,” the Professor seemed a little too happy that I had used Mudkip, “So, what will you name him?”

“Well, you see I…” I tried to tell the Professor that there had been a mistake, then I saw how excited he looked and I couldn’t bring myself to disappionting him, “I-I think I’ll name him Caso. Is that alright with you Caso?”

The mudfish thought about it for a minute, then shook its head up and down, “Mud, Mud.”

“Okay then! That’s great! Somehow I just know you two will be great friends,” the Professor was either excited to not have to put up with Mudkip any longer, or that a new Trainer was ready to start helping him fill up the Pokedex, or both.

Well, I guess there’s no use complaining about it now, I sighed inwardly. Like it or not, I’m stuck with this little guy. But, I guess I can put up with his attitude. After all, he’s the first Pokemon I’ve met in my journey around the Hoenn Region. And if hearing about other Trainers’ stories about their travels has taught me anything, it’s that the first Pokemon you meet is one of the most important.

News

Alright, so I haven’t played any Megaman recently, but I think I might have something that I’m going to post soon that will make up for that. First, I should tell you awesome readers that I have started a Nuzlocke in Emerald. For those of you who don’t know, a Nuzlocke is a way of playing through Pokemon games, and it has certain rules. If you want to know the rules, you can ask me. But if you want to ask an expert on the subject, you should go ask Taco. Anyway, instead of taking snapshots and making a gaming journal about it, I asked my sister to help me take notes of important things that happened as I played. And now, I have one chapter written of my Nuzlocke story. The name of the story is “Trainer Strawberry”. The chapter isn’t very long, but considering that it’s the first real chapter of something that I’m writing that I finished, I think that’s okay. I’m sorry if it seems a little jumbled and/or inconsistent, hopefully that will be fixed as continue to write and get experience writing. Also, I will be making a new page with links to all future story posts, so if you ever want to re-read one of my stories, just go to that page and click on the link to the story you want to read. The story should be up in an hour, so check back then if you’re interested in reading it. Critique is not only accepted, but welcomed on my story. Any useful tips on how to write better are also accepted.

Anyway, I have a few videos to show you guys. First, is a Japanese video made for “Respect Your Elders Day”. The kanji near the end video reads, “Are you respecting them?”.

I think this video perfectly describes what it is like to play one of those games where you have to hit a button over and over. You can skip to :18 in the video if you want to skip the intro. The thing you’re supposed to pay attention to is the guys at the bottom of the screen. You don’t have to watch the whole video, just please watch until a little past :37.

Please leave a comment with your reactions to the videos-I would love to read your reactions. Unless you don’t have time to comment, in which case, just don’t worry about it.

Happy (late) New Years! Later.
