Fairy Tail Review (Spoiler Warning)

Fairy Tail is based off of the manga by the same name written by Hiro Mashima

Fairy Tail is based on a manga by the same name written by Hiro Mashima

I do not own any pictures.

Okay, so, I realized that it’s been awhile since I last updated my “Anime” page, and I decided write about Fairy Tail since it was the most recent anime I’ve watched. But, since I’ve already watched all of the English Dub episodes that are out at the moment, I decided to make it an actual post.

Anyway, Fairy Tail takes place in the fictional kingdom of Fiore and follows the adventures of a group of wizards from a guild with the same name as the anime. Guilds are places where wizards can find jobs and join other wizards to form teams. Each guild has its own emblem which members are required to have stamped on as proof of their membership. If a member chooses to leave a guild, or if they are kicked out of  it, the emblem will disappear. There are also rules that anyone leaving a guild must follow. I’m not sure if they vary from guild to guild, or if every guild has them, although it makes sense for every guild to have them. Guilds are also separated into two groups, there’s the official guilds who are recognized by the Magic Consul, and there’s the Dark Guilds which are usually full of crooks.

Now for the core characters, first off is Natsu Dragneel.

Natsu 2

Natsu is a fire dragon slayer. Which means that he not only uses fire dragon slayer magic, but he can also eat fire to regain his magic power. Unfortunately for him, Natsu suffers from severe motion sickness, just standing on something that’s moving, even if it isn’t moving very fast, makes him so sick he can barely move. Natsu tends to be a hot head, and is generally considered childish, but when he gets serious, his opponents don’t stand a chance. He is widely known as “Salamander” by the people of Fiore. Natsu was raised by the fire dragon, Igneel, until Igneel’s sudden disappearance seven years before the start of the series. After Igneel disappeared, Natsu dedicated large amounts of his time and energy to finding the dragon. And it was on one of his trips to check on a rumor he heard that he thought would lead him to Igneel that he met the next character I’m going to mention, Lucy Heartfilia.

Lucy Heartfilia

Lucy is a Celestial Wizard. She summons Celestial Spirits by opening their “Gates” with her Celestial Keys. She is in possession of seven of the twelve Gold Keys, these keys open the gates to spirits named after the twelve signs of the zodiac. She is generally a very cheery person, but also tends to be a little touchy. Lucy is also the daughter of an extremely wealthy businessman. However, after the death of her mother, she and her father never got along, resulting in her decision to run away from home. After a chance encounter with Natsu, she joined Fairy Tail, and soon after became Natsu’s partner. When her father tried to force her to return home by hiring wizards to attack Fairy Tail, she surrendered and returned home only to personally announce that Fairy Tail was her home now and, if her father tried to destroy it again, he would have to answer to her. Later, when her father’s business was sold out leaving him bankrupt and without a home, he decided to build a new business from the ground up. He also decided to try to be a better person. During this time, his relationship with Lucy improved. Unfortunately, he and Lucy didn’t have much time left together as Lucy and all of Fairy Tail’s strongest wizards disappeared suddenly during the “S” class trails. When the members returned seven years later, Lucy’s father had already died. However, her father’s love and change of character was evident, as during the seven years that she was gone, he never failed to send her a birthday present and a card each year, and he paid her rent for her while she was gone so she would have a home to return to when she finally made it back.

Anyway, time for the next character, Lucy meets him when he and Natsu get into a fight almost as soon as Natsu and Lucy arrive at Fairy Tail for Lucy to join. Guess you could say he’s known for giving Natsu the “Cold Shoulder”. Okay, that was an admittingly bad joke, let’s just move on to Gray Fullbuster.

Gray Fullbuster

Gray is an ice wizard. He uses Ice Make magic to make just about anything he can think of to use in battle. His abilities range from fairly common things such as making a hammer out of ice and completely freezing the ground to cause his opponents to slip, to more complex things such as making an exact replica of himself to trick his opponents and making a prison to trap his opponents in. He also has a bad habit of randomly taking off his shirt, usually even he isn’t aware of the fact that he is without a shirt until someone else points it out. Gray’s parents died when a monster named Deliora attacked his village. Gray was then taken in by an ice wizard by the name of Ur. Afterwards, he was trained alongside her other student Lyon Vastia. The three lived happily until news of another Deliora attack reached them. Gray decided to go fight the monster despite Ur’s warnings. It was during that battle that Ur sacrificed herself so Gray and Lyon could survive. Ur used the last of her strength to trap the monster in an Iced Shell by becoming the very ice that trapped it. For years afterward, Gray blamed himself for Ur’s death, and Lyon blamed him too. The two never saw each other for years (pretty sure it was seven years, but I don’t remember for sure), and when they finally saw each other again, it wasn’t a happy reunion. The reason Lyon was upset about Ur’s death was because his dream was to surpass his teacher, and now that she was dead, he couldn’t prove that he was better than her by winning a fight. So, he decided that the only other way to prove he was better was by reviving the monster that she had lost her life sealing away. However, when he finally frees the monster it turns out that it was already dead from being sealed in ice for so long. After that, Lyon joins an official guild, and he and Gray remain rivals, but are also now friends. The incident also made Natsu and Gray closer, although neither one of them would admit it. Our heroes weren’t out of the water after defeating Lyon, though, because the mission they had taken on which resulted in them fighting Lyon was an “S” class mission, and it was against the rules for normal ranked wizards like them to take on those types of missions. Which caused Master Makarov to send this next character to go get them and bring them back to the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. That character’s name is Erza Scarlet.

Erza Scarlet

Erza uses Requip magic. This allows her to swap out her armor and weapons whenever she wishes. Erza is known to be the fastest requiper there is, she is also considered Fairy Tail’s strongest female wizard, and as a result, the rest of the members both fear and respect her. Erza is usually a no-nonsense woman, but she tends to be a tad ridiculous at times. Once she went a little overboard defeating a gang of thieves because they ruined her first ever picnic during an important mission. Part of Erza’s inner strength comes from her harsh past. She, along with a lot of other people, were capture by a dark guild and forced to make a tower which they planned to use to somehow bring back an evil wizard named Zeref, whom was believed dead but was later revealed to be alive (and who honest to goodness looks like a black-haired version of Kagamine Len from Vocaloid without a ponytail). During this time, Erza makes friends whom she will cherish for years to come. The one she feels the most attachment to is a young boy named Jellal Fernandes. It was Jellal who gave Erza her last name after she told him that she didn’t know what her last name was. He suggested Scarlet so he would always be able to remember her name by her hair. After Erza is tortured by the guards because she stood up for herself and everyone else, Jellal came to her rescue only to be captured and tortured himself. This changed Jellal drastically, he was no longer the kind and gentle boy that everyone once knew. After all the captives rebelled and defeated the dark guild, Jellal betrayed everyone and made it seem like Erza was the betrayer. After sending Erza away with strict commands to never return, Jellal destroyed the rest of the boats ensuring that the rest of the prisoners couldn’t escape. He then proceeded to force the remaining prisoners to continue building the tower, only this time he tricked them into thinking that that was what they wanted to do because it would allow them to reach heaven. Because of this claim, the tower became known as the Tower of Heaven. Years later, Jellal sent the rest of Erza’s old friends to capture her and bring her to the tower to be used as a sacrifice to activate the tower. It was then that Jellal’s betrayal became known to the other prisoners. Luckily, Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Juvia (a water wizard of Fairy Tail) came to Erza’s rescue. They managed to stop Jellal, but unfortunately, the battle caused one of Erza’s old friends to lose his life in order to save Erza’s.

Now, about Juvia, she joined Fairy Tail after a battle with another guild known as Phantom Lord, and she wasn’t the only new member to join Fairy Tail after that battle. The next character also joined after the battle, although he was a little more reluctant than Juvia. His name is Gajeel Redfox.

Gajeel Redfox

Gajeel is an Iron Dragon Slayer. He can transform his body into iron and use it as a weapon. For example, he usually transforms his arm into a sword that has extra, smaller blades that spin around like the blades on a chainsaw. Similar to Natsu, Gajeel can restore his magic power by eating iron. Also like Natsu, Gajeel’s dragon disappeared seven years before the start of the series, it also disappeared on the same day as Natsu’s dragon. Gajeel is generally a ruff-and-tumble kind of guy, and, can sometimes come off as rude. Although Gajeel was once an enemy of Fairy Tail, he is now a loyal member who would do almost anything for his guild. He served as a double agent at one time at the request of Makarov, and gave Fairy Tail valuable information on a guild whose single purpose was to destroy Fairy Tail. This guild is known as Raven Tail. Raven Tail was started by Makarov’s son after he was kicked out of Fairy Tail for trying to bring harm to the other members of the guild. While Gajeel doesn’t appear to have had this weakness when he was first introduced, during the Grand Magic Games, it is revealed that he also suffers from severe motion sickness like Natsu. It is also revealed that this is common among strong dragon slayers as the White Dragon Slayer Sting and the Shadow Dragon Slayer Rogue also suffer from severe motion sickness. The only dragon slayer who doesn’t appear to have this weakness is also the next character, Wendy Marvell.

Wendy Marvell

Wendy is a Sky Dragon Slayer. She specializes in support magic, and usually isn’t much of a fighter, but she can still hold her own in a battle. Wendy is also a healer, and possesses a magic that can temporarily cure motion sickness, but the more she uses it on someone the less effective it is, much to Natsu’s dismay. Wendy is usually cheerful, but has a tendency to be a little hard on herself. Wendy was very young when her dragon disappeared at the same time as Natsu’s and Gajeel’s. Alone, scared and crying, Wendy soon runs into Mystogan, Jellal’s look-alike from an alternate dimension known as Edolas. Mystogan had only recently arrived in Earth Land (the world of Fairy Tail) and was unaware that he had a counterpart in the world, and introduced himself as Jellal to Wendy, as that was his real name. Once he found out that everyone in Edolas has a counterpart in Earth Land, he changed his name to Mystogan, however, he had already left Wendy by then. Wendy was left in a deserted village that was home to one old man who possessed illusion magic, which he used to make the village full of people and to make members for a guild called Cait Shelter so Wendy wouldn’t feel alone. He never told Wendy that everyone was an illusion, so she grew up thinking that they were all real people. When all of the major guilds in Fiore joined forces to defeat a dark guild before they destroyed all of Fiore, Wendy was sent to be the representative of Cait Shelter as she was the only real member besides the master of the guild. During the fight against the dark guild, Jellal resurfaced. He didn’t remember anyone from Fairy Tail, however, as he had lost his memory after his battle against our heroes. He still remembered Erza’s name, but that was all he remembered. He didn’t remember anything about what he had done. Wendy was excited to see him, however, because she thought he was the same Jellal that had saved her all those years ago. It wasn’t until after the dark guild had been defeated and Wendy found out Cait Shelter wasn’t really a guild and had joined Fairy Tail that she found out it was actually Mystogan that had saved her when she was a young girl.

Alright, now that I’ve told you about all of the Dragon Slayers, it time for me to tell you about their Exceed partners. There’s Natsu’s partner, Happy, Wendy’s partner, Carla, and Gajeel’s partner Pantherlily (Who is usually simply referred to as Lily).

Happy Carla           Panther Lily

Like all Exceeds, these three have the capability to grow wings and fly. Despite their small appearance they can each carry their dragon slayer with ease, as well as other members of Fairy Tail. Lily also has the ability to make himself bigger and stronger by regaining his original appearance that he had in Edolas. Like all Exceeds, all three of them are originally from Edolas, however Happy and Carla were sent to Earth Land when they were still in their eggs, it was then that they met Natsu and Wendy. Upon each of them meeting their dragon slayer, they have always been at the slayers side, ready to help whenever they can.

And that’s all of the core characters. Overall Fairy Tail is an amazing anime, although that may vary with personal opinion. Fairy Tail is just one of those animes where you either like it or you don’t. There is a lot of battles and action in the series, so if you’re a fan of Dragon Ball you’ll probably like Fairy Tail. But, even if you don’t like Dragon Ball, I would still suggest giving Fairy Tail a shot. Personally, I’ve never watched Dragon Ball (but I know enough about it to know that it’s mostly fighting), and I still thoroughly enjoyed Fairy Tail. I’ve read that the English Dub is still ongoing, but it would also appear that there haven’t been any new episodes in a while, as I’ve seen comments from people asking when Fairy Tail is going to resume. Do any of you awesome readers know if it’s still being dubbed, or did Funimation lose the rights? Also, if any of you awesome readers have a question, or would like to know more about a character, feel free to ask in the comments section. And here’s a question for you awesome readers, do you like my reviews? Would you like to see more of them, or would you prefer if I didn’t do reviews? And finally, any tips on how to make my reviews better would be much appreciated as I am still new at making reviews.

Later.

WIP: Super Smash Bros Brawl – Episode 1

Episode 1 – Another Peaceful Day, Or Is It?

It was another peaceful day in Toadtown. Toads were busy doing what they always do. But, at the castle, Princess Peach was worried. That’s why she sent for Mario and Luigi. “Thank you for coming,” she said as they walked down the hall, “I hate to bother you, but the fact that Bowser hasn’t attacked in a while has me worried. I fear something terrible is going to happen.”

“No problem, Princess. And you shouldn’t worry, if something bad happens, Mario and I will protect you,” Luigi said he seemed pretty confident. Mario nodded his head in agreement.

“Thank you, Mario, Luigi, that means a lot to me.”

Mario moved his hand like he was swatting at a flying insect. “Don’t’a mention it.” Just then they heard a loud sound, causing them all to turn to the window.

“That sounded like an explosion,” Luigi exclaimed.

“Let’s’a go see what caused it,” Mario said even though he had a good idea what the cause was. The two brothers dashed out the door.

“Be careful,” Peach whispered after them.

============================================================================

The two arrived at a devastated town square. “What’s’a going on here,” Mario asked a Toad that was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

He stopped running and looked over towards Mario and Luigi. “Oh, thank goodness you’re here! Bowser attacked just a minute ago. You must protect Princess Peach. I’m sure that she’s who he’s after,” He told them before he went back to freaking out.

“PRINCESS,” The Mario brothers exclaimed as they ran back to the castle.

When they arrived Toadsworth was already freaking out. “THE PRINCESS, HE KIDNAPPED THE PRINCESS! OH, WHY DID I LEAVE HER ALONE FOR 10 SECONDS?” Mario was just asking himself the same question, minus the 10 second part.

Mario and Luigi rushed to the hallway where they last saw Princess Peach, and looked around to see if their foe had left any clues as to where he had taken the princess. The window was broken, but that was about it. The floor wasn’t cracked, there were no burn or claw marks on the wall, there wasn’t even one or two Goombas waiting for them, just a broken window. This was so unlike Bowser.

“It’s surprisingly clean in here, considering Bowser just attacked,” Luigi commented as he looked around.

Mario walked over to inspect the window. What if Bowser wasn’t the one who did this? What if we have a new enemy? If that is the case we will have to be on our guard.

Sudden movement outside the window caught Mario’s attention. “I think I might have just spotted the culprit. Luigi, let’s’a go,” Mario said as he jumped out the window and started to chase the figure. Whoever they were chasing was fast. Even though Mario had started running as soon as he hit the ground, he had already lost sight of the person, or Koopa, or Toad, or whatever they were chasing.

Eventually the two brothers came across a cave. It was large and menacing on the outside. And dark and creepy looking on the inside. “D-do you th-think he went in th-th-there,” Luigi asked while shaking nervously.

“It looks like the kinda place Bowser would hide. But there’s only one way to find’a out,” Mario replied calmly.

“I was afraid y-you’d say th-that,” Luigi said as he followed Mario inside.

Once inside they found that there was a lot of lava in the cave, another trademark of Bowser. The glow from the lava caused the walls to have a reddish tint to them, and the heat was almost smothering. There was a single straight walkway going across the room, with a door at the end opposite of where Mario and Luigi were standing.

“We should be careful, Bowser must have some preety good traps’a here for there to not be any Goombas or Koopas around. And the door isn’t locked so he’s probably preety confident that no ones’a gonna get in,” Mario stated as they cautiously started walking to the door.

“Or maybe he just got lonely, and wanted some company, so he made sure it was easy to get to his room,” Luigi said hopefully. Mario turned to face Luigi with an “Are You Serious?” face. “It could happen,” Luigi said as he shrugged.

The two reached the door without setting off any traps. Mario cautiously pushed open the door. The room inside the door was huge, circular, and empty.

“Well, what have we here? Nice to see you two showed up.” That wasn’t Bowser’s voice. A figure then dropped from the ceiling, the same figure Mario had seen through the window. It was tall, slender, and. . .Furry. Now that Mario had a better look at it, he realized it wasn’t a person at all, it appeared to be a large anthropomorphic wolf. It raised itself up slowly and
menacingly. “We’ve been expecting you, and personally, I was beginning to wonder if you were going to show up, or if you had chickened out,” It got a terrifying smirk as it said that last part. If it was trying to be creepy, it was doing a VERY good job at it. It turned to the Parakoopa that had followed it down from the roof. “Tell the king, ‘The peasants have arrived’.” The winged Koopa gave a salute and flew off.

“Who are you, and where have you taken Princess Peach,” Mario asked trying to ignore
Luigi’s whimpering. It didn’t seem to hear him, in fact it didn’t even really seem to acknowledge that they were still in the room. “Well, ANSWER ME,” Mario demanded slightly angered by the creature’s behavior.

It chuckled. “Wouldn’t you like to know,” It had turned its head and was looking at the brothers over its shoulder. Suddenly there was a loud crash as the roof caved in, and
in dropped Bowser. The wolf then leaped into the air and grabbed on to a rope ladder that was attached to a helicopter. “See you later, heroes,” It said mockingly as the helicopter ascended and flew away. That left Mario and Luigi with Bowser.

“So glad you could stop by, I was looking forward to stomping you like the bugs you are,” Bowser said tauntingly. Considering all the times Bowser’s plans had failed, Mario found that statement to be very false.

“Where have you’a taken the princess,” Mario asked knowing that Bowser was so talkative and boastful that he would probably answer.

“I’ve taken her to my new hideout, not that that information concerns you seeing as this will be the last day you ever live,” Bowser stated. Mario was right, he would give them an answer, and seeing as this was Bowser’s hideout, that meant that Princess Peach must be in the cave somewhere.

“Let’a her go,” Mario demanded.

“Who’s gonna make me?”

“I am.”

“A-and I am too,” Luigi spoke up starting to not tremble as much.

Bowser just simply laughed. “Very well then. I’d like to see you try,” He said. They got into their battle poses.

“Let’s’a go,” Mario shouted to Luigi as they charged toward Bowser. Bowser leaped into the air with surprising speed, and counter attacked with a fire-ball while still in the air. Mario and Luigi easily dodged, and leaped into the air. Luigi grabbed Mario, spinned, and hurled Mario higher into the air. Mario kicked Bowser with his most powerful kick that he would use when playing soccer with his friends. This sent Bowser into the wall, then crashing to the floor. But he didn’t seem to have felt the attack at all, and got back up with no problem at all.

“Is that all you got?” Bowser asked, acting disappointed, “My turn.” He then charged at them, and swiped with his claws. The attack sent the brothers flying through a door at the other side of the room, and into another room similar to the one they where just in, except the roof was up way higher and there where ramps on both sides of the room that wound up and around the room to the roof.

Mario and Luigi started running up one of the ramps, while Bowser entered the room. When Bowser saw that they were running up a ramp, he shot a fireball in their direction. But he missed, and hit the wall instead, causing rocks to fall and block him from going up the same ramp. So instead he went up the other ramp, firing more fireballs at Mario and Luigi as he went. And Mario and Luigi dodging every single fireball as they continued to run up the ramp that they were on. Suddenly Mario turned and leaped into the air. With some movement of his hands, he launched twin fireballs at Bowser. They spun as they went, creating a sort of vortex between them. The fireballs hit their target, and pushed Bowser against the wall. Mario had hoped to land on the ramp but it was too far away for Mario to reach. When Mario realized this he started to flail his arms trying to reach the edge of the
ramp, but his efforts were in vain, and he began to fall.

“MARRRRRRIIIOOOOOO,” Luigi yelled as his brother fell.

Mario thought for sure he was done for, when suddenly something caught him. He looked to see what it was. It was a green lizard with a white underbelly and a red back and a pair of white wings. “Yoshi,” Mario exclaimed joyfully, “Boy, am I’a glad to see you’a.”

“Yo, Yo,” Yoshi responded happily as he carried Mario back up to the level where Luigi and Bowser were. Mario waved to Luigi as they flew up. Luigi was having a little party over at the ramp he was on, he clearly thought he would have to face Bowser on his own, and was relieved when he saw Mario was okay.

“Yoshi, do’a you think you’a could’a help us defeat Bowser,” Mario asked. Yoshi nodded his head and made his signature record-scratching sound. He then turned in mid-air and started firing fireballs at Bowser while circling him in the air. He continued firing until he couldn’t see Bowser through the smoke left by his fireballs after they hit. Then he landed on the platform Luigi was on, and lost his wings as he landed.

“Alright, now you’ve made me mad,” Bowser said angrily. Everyone turned toward where Bowser was standing. As the smoke cleared they could see him standing with an angry look on his face. “You dare think you could defeat me, Bowser, the King of Koopas, with a few puny FIREBALLS? You will pay for your insolence,” Bowser said clearly enraged. He then started to grow larger, his shell turned blue and got spikier, his horns, teeth, and claws also got longer and sharper, the scales on his face turned blue, and his eyes looked wild and furious. Bowser had gone giga.

A puff of smoke escaped from his mouth as he growled, he was definitely more powerful now. Bowser roared and as he did the sound of turning gears could be heard and the ramps
turned into a platform that made a perfect battle arena. Mario knew they couldn’t defeat Bowser the way he was now, but they didn’t need to. Bowser couldn’t hold his giga form for long, so all they needed to do was keep dodging his attacks and wait for him to get tired.

The monster rushed forward and swiped with his claws, the three friends dodged and took off in separate directions. Yoshi ran to the side of the room opposite to where Bowser was, and stuck out his long tongue while pulling down his right eyelid with his finger. Bowser roared loudly and charged at Yoshi. Yoshi tried to jump over him, but Bowser had grabbed his tail and threw him back down to the floor. Yoshi gave a yelp of surprise.

“Yoshi!” Mario and Luigi yelled as they charged at Bowser. They jumped and gave Bowser a hard kick on both sides, but it didn’t seem to hurt him.

Then, all of a sudden, they heard an angry yell coming from the other side of the wall. The wall crashed down as a man in purple overalls and a yellow hat and shirt burst into the room.

“WHERE’S MY GAAAARRRRRLLLLIIIIICCCC?!” he shouted. It was Wario.

His entrance was just what Mario and Luigi needed to turn the battle around. It had distracted Bowser long enough for him to run out of energy, causing him to turn back to normal.

“WHAT?” Bowser exclaimed, “This can’t be! Oh, well. I don’t need my Giga power to stomp you insects”. He seemed pretty confident. Too bad he was so busy boasting that he didn’t see Wario leaping towards him ready to punch.

“I’LL SHOW YOU WHOSE AN INSECT!” Wario yelled as he hit Bowser right in the face. Bowser flew through the wall opposite of where Wario entered, and fell. Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi ran to the hole in the wall to see if Bowser survived. When Bowser suddenly hovered to the window, thanks to Kamek.

“You got lucky this time,” Bowser growled. “But I’ll be back, and next time you won’t be so lucky. Soon, I will be treated like a king! And not just in this world. Bwah-ha-ha!”

Suddenly, a huge hole opened in the sky with a bunch of different places mixed together in it. Bowser and Kamek quickly flew into it.

“What do you’a mean?” Mario yelled. But it was too late-the hole had already vanished, and with it, so had Kamek and Bowser. Mario turned around and thanked Wario for his help, but Wario was too busy looking for his garlic to notice. Mario sighed and turned back to the hole in the wall.

“So, now what’a do we do?” Luigi asked his brother.

“I’a guess we should’a go to Yoshi’s Island and ask’a Professor Elvin E. Gadd for help’a.” Mario replied.

“I’m’a coming too, Bowser’s’a going to pay for stealing my garlic’a,” Wario said, to the surprise of Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi.

Mario nodded, and stared off into the distance. We’a have to be ready for anything. He thought.

~Later at Yoshi’s Island~

“Why’a do you’a think the Professor came to Yoshi’s Island’a?” Luigi asked as they walked to the Yoshi’s Village. Yoshi turned around and started waving his arms up and down, and desperately tried to tell them something.

“What’s’a wrong with the overgrown gecko?” Wario rudely asked.

“He’s a Yoshi!”, Mario stated, then he turned to Yoshi, “What is wrong?”

Just then the group was interrupted by a familiar voice, “Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and…Wario? What are you doing here?” the voice asked, sounding confused. It was Professor E. Gadd.

“We’re’a looking for you’a.” Mario said. He then proceeded to tell the Professor everything that had happened.

“Hmm. It sounds like Bowser has taken the Princess to another world,” the Professor said when Mario had finished.

“Another world?” Luigi said, seeming totally lost.

“Yes, another world. There are many other worlds besides this one. And each contain different creatures, lifestyles, and people. So, it stands to reason that Bowser has found a way to travel to these worlds and has teamed up with other villains from these worlds. If this is true, you may have to find heroes from other worlds to help you stop them. But first, you will need a way to travel to these worlds.”

“Can you’a figure out a way we can do that Professor?” Mario asked.

“Well, I have an invention that should do the trick, with a few modifications. It will be entirely experimental, of course, but I wouldn’t worry about that.” The professor replied. Luigi shivered has he remembered the last time he had been the guinea pig for one of the Professor’s inventions, it was not fun.

————————————————————————————————————————–

This isn’t the end of the first episode, but it is as much as I’ve wrote so far. I started writing this long before I even thought of writing Trainer Strawberry, so my writing skills in this probably aren’t as good as they are now (they really aren’t that good now, but I feel pretty confident they’re an improvement compared to what they used to be). So, what do you awesome readers think? Is it worth finishing? I should probably mention, though, that even if it is finished, it will probably be awhile before it is posted because I am working on Trainer Strawberry right now. Speaking of Trainer Strawberry, I posted this as an apology for not posting a chapter of Trainer Strawberry last week like I had planned on doing. I’m really sorry about that. I got busy.

Top 22 Pokemon X/Y Themes

(Note: This is just my opinion, and therefore, you do not have to agree with it, just don’t make a big deal of it in the comments.)

So, I recently beat the Elite Four in Pokemon X, and I decided to make a list of my top ten themes. But, obviously, I couldn’t just pick ten themes, so now it’s a top twenty-two theme list. I usually don’t notice themes in video games, so I decided to look up a playlist of the themes on Youtube and chose my favorites from the playlist. As a result, I do not know when every theme on this list plays, but I have an idea of when they play with some of them (and there are some that I do know when they play). Also, another reason I decided to make this list is because I thought my awesome readers might enjoy a special extra post. Now, before we get to the list, there is something I must apologize for. I will not be making any new posts this coming week because I am staying with my older sister and probably won’t have the time. Again, I am sorry. I should also inform all of you awesome readers that since it is summer, I may not be able to put posts up as frequently as I used to. This doesn’t mean I will stop making posts, it just means that I am busier in the summer. Anyway, on with the list!

#22 – Battle! Lysandre: This theme plays while you battle Lysandre, the leader of Team Flare. I think it a great remix of the Team Flare Grunt Battle theme. It adds a certain urgent and important vibe to it. And, as this is the battle that will determine the fate of humanity, it needs to have that.

#21 – Spotted! Ace Trainer: Did you know that different themes play depending upon what kind of Pokemon Trainer spots you? Because I sure didn’t know that until I looked up these themes. I like how the Ace Trainer’s theme sounds professional and energetic. That isn’t something that you hear very often, or, at least, I haven’t heard it very often. If any of you awesome readers know a theme that sounds professional and energetic at the same time, I would love to hear it. I like the way themes like that sound.

#20 – The Ultimate Weapon Deployed: This theme plays when Team Flare revives the Ultimate Weapon that nearly wiped out all life on Kalos years ago. It doesn’t really start until around eleven seconds, but then it gets really dramatic sounding, perfect for what is happening at this point in the game.

#19 – Anistar City: This is the theme for Anistar City (obviously). I think it sounds pretty awesome. I don’t remember if something un-ordinary happens in Anistar or not – I don’t even really remember where Anistar is. I just like the theme.

#18 – The Kalos Power Plant: This is the theme of the power plant you have to save from Team Flare, who are trying to use the electricity from it to power the Ultimate Weapon. I think this theme sounds pretty cool. It also as a certain city vibe to it.

#17 – Battle! Gym Leader: I’m pretty sure this is a remix of the theme played while fighting a Trainer, but I’m not 100% sure. Anyway, when this theme plays, you know you’re in for a fight. Unless you’re like me, and your Pokemon are already ten or twenty levels higher than the Gym Leader’s Pokemon when you fight them.

#16 – Battle! Elite Four: This theme plays as you fight the Elite Four. When it plays, you know you’re going to have a tough time if you didn’t pick the right Pokemon.

#15 – Battle! Champion: This is the theme that plays as you fight the Champion of the Pokemon League. It takes a few seconds before it really starts, but I like how it sounds tough and light-hearted at the same time. The fact that the Champion mostly uses Fairy-Type Pokemon adds to the theme.

#14 – Bicycle: This theme plays while you are riding your bike. I like how it sounds so happy and carefree. Which is how I’m sure most people feel as they ride their bike.

#13 – Route 1: This theme plays as you walk on Route 1, which is a pretty short Route. I like how the xylophone makes it sound happy and carefree. And since this is the first Route the Trainers are on when they start their journey, they probably really are happy and carefree because none of the Team Flare stuff has happened yet.

#12 – Spotted! Youngster: This theme plays when you’re spotted by a Youngster. I think it sounds like something you’d hear in Paper Mario. I think it really fits Youngsters because of how youthful and happy sounding it is.

#11 – Tower of Mystery: I don’t know when this theme plays. It takes about ten seconds to really start, but when it does, it’s beautiful. I also think it kinda sounds like something you would hear in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

#10 – A Mysterious Figure: This is another theme that I don’t know when it plays. I like it because it sounds kinda super hero-y. We are now down to the top ten. What songs made it you ask? Well, let’s see.

#9 – Scary House: I’m pretty sure this theme plays while you’re in the house near the swamp that is supposed to be haunted or something. I think it does a great job of sounding kinda creepy yet magical. I also think it kinda sounds like something you’d hear in Banjo-Kazooie.

#8 – Snowbelle City: This is the theme that plays in Snowbelle City. Snowbelle is the city containing the last Pokemon Gym and is covered in snow. And I think this theme captures both of those elements nicely. I also think it sounds like a theme you’d hear in Professor Layton.

#7 – An Eternal Poison: I’m pretty sure this theme plays when AZ is telling you the story about how the Ultimate Weapon almost destroyed all life in Kalos. This theme is also used as AZ’s theme. I think the theme perfectly captures the pain and longing that AZ has felt throughout the past thousands of years he has lived.

#6 – Fin: I’m not sure if this plays during the credits, or if it plays after them when the message that says “Thanks for playing” shows up. I think it’s a nice song to end with either way, though. I really like the way the guitar sounds.

#5 – Looker’s Theme: This is Looker the Detective’s theme. I think this song is perfect for him because it kinda gives you this vibe of hitting the streets, looking for clues, and hunting down criminals.

#4 – Friends Theme (Friends Forever): This is the theme that plays when you meet up with your friends on the bridge before you challenge the Elite Four. This particular theme is actually just a slower version of the Friends Theme (Reunited), which is just a version of Friends Theme (A New Meeting) with a different opening. This was one of the themes that I actually noticed while I was playing. It added to the moment because everyone was all like “Even when they’re far apart, friends are still friends.” I think this theme adds to that, because it sounds very sweet.

#3 – The Sun Shines Down: This theme play after you defeat AZ and he is being reunited with his Pokemon that he thought he would never see again. It doesn’t really start until around thirty-three seconds in. But it is perfect for this moment in this game. You can feel the happiness and relief flowing from this song.

#2 – Together with Shauna: This theme plays while you’re watching the fireworks with Shauna at Parfume Palace. This theme makes me think of my close friends, and I think that’s what it is supposed to do.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The time to find out what my favorite song in Pokemon X/Y is. So, without further ado…

#1 – An Unwavering Heart: In front of the Coumarine City Pokemon Center is a guy that, upon talking to him, will play this song for you. It is just beautiful. I’ve read that it is a rearrangement of a song in Pokemon Black/White, but I don’t remember hearing it in Black (the version I have). Of course, that doesn’t really mean anything, because, as I’ve mentioned before, I usually don’t notice the background themes while I’m playing a game.

Well, there you have it, my top 22 Pokemon X/Y themes. I hope you enjoyed reading this list and listening to my favorite songs from a great game.

Even though it’s Monday, and therefore this will be a day late, Happy Easter to all of my awesome readers!

Later.
