This is where I will post about movies I have watched recently. There may be spoilers, occasionally.
———————————————————————————————————————-
4/14/15 – Today I watched Fairy Tail: Priestess of the Phoenix. It was amazing! The animation was smooth, and worked well with the high action battles common in the series. I also thought that the storyline held the same quality as it does in the series, despite the writers have less time to work with in getting the story across in the movie as they do in the episodic series. I definitely recommend checking out this movie.
3/13/14 – Today I watched Turbo. It. Was. Awesome! At first I was a little skeptical (I mean a movie about a snail that can race? Come on!), but it was definitely worth the watch. The movie starts off with brothers Theo (also known as Turbo) and Chet. Theo dreams of racing just like his hero, Guy Gagné. And the words Theo practically lives by is “There is no dream too big, and no dreamer too small” which is what he heard his hero say in an interview. At this time Theo does not have his powers, and therefore, is just your average garden snail. But that doesn’t stop Theo. He continues to practice his racing even when the other snails laugh at him. Until, one day, his dreams of racing nearly get him killed. Chet tries to convince Theo that he should give up on his dream of racing and asks him “When are you going to wake up?”. Later that night, Theo winds up in a freak accident that ends up giving him the power of super-speed. And, long story short, he goes on to win one of the biggest races of all time, proving himself to his brother, and everyone else from his home that didn’t believe in him. So, yeah, if you haven’t already seen this movie, you really should change that.
2/3/14 – Today I watched Disney’s Frozen. I… I… I want to build a snowman. I loved it. It was just… beautiful. I love the symbolism of the two living snowmen Elsa builds. The first one, named Olaf, was built when she was happy and felt free, just like she did when she was a kid. And it shows in Olaf, twice he says things that Elsa heard during her childhood; “My name’s Olaf, and I like warm hugs!” and “The sky is awake”. And the other snowman, whom I do not know the name of, was built when she was scared that she would hurt someone (namely Anna) just as she had feared for years. This snowman is huge, ugly, unfriendly, and most importantly, powerful. It is these things that lead me to believe that the second snowman represents her fear, while Olaf represents her happiness and freedom. And by the end of the movie, only Olaf remains. Elsa is now happy and free from her fears, so it’s only fitting that the symbol of her happiness and freedom remain, while the symbol of her fear and doubt has disappeared. All in all, I highly recommend this movie.
1/9/14 – Today I watched Pokemon the Movie: Kyurem VS The Sword of Justice. I think that that was the best Pokemon movie I have watched in quite a while. Maybe it was because Keldeo was in it, I love Keldeo. I’m kinda sad that I missed the event when he was given out. The fact that Keldeo was voiced by Vic Mignogna in the English dub was just icing on the cake.
1/5/14 – Today I watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I love Disney movies, so much. The animations are beautiful, the dialogs are smooth, and the plots are excellent. As I mentioned before, happy endings make me cry, and this movie is no exception. As usual, I highly recommend this movie.
12/21/13 – Today I watched Walking with Dinosaurs. I loved it. The graphics and animation were perfect. I definitely recommend this movie.
12/11/13 – Today I re-watched Escape from Planet Earth. I love The Greys. Those little dudes are so awesome. I think the producers made a very good choice in having them talk like people from the 70’s, it’s really fitting for them. This is definitely a movie that I would highly recommend, if you haven’t already seen it.
12/5/13 – A couple of days ago, I watched Super Buddies, and the day before that I watched The Croods (I would have mentioned these movies earlier, but I only recently learned how to make an extra page). I have only one thing to say about these two movies, happy endings make me cry.
