Chibi Pictures

Not too long ago, I decided to draw some pictures in the style known as “Chibi”. Which is basically when you draw a character shorter and cuter. Characters drawn in the chibi style usually have large heads, small bodies, and huge (and sometimes extra sparkly) eyes. My version of the chibi style might be a little different from how most people draw in the style, but the way I draw them works best for me, or, at least, it works best for me right now. The character I decided to start with is Jack Frost from the movie “Rise of the Guardians”. First, I drew a picture of Jack facing forward. It’s nothing fancy, there’s no background or anything, it was just to give me a feel for the style.

I forgot to draw the staff until after I was done coloring Jack, which is why it’s so small. It should’ve been bigger, but, because it was a last-minute detail, I didn’t take the time to fix it.

Next, I decided to see which looked cuter, with a mouth, or without. I added a mouth, but I think it looks cuter without a mouth. Here is a picture of Jack with a mouth:

Which do you awesome readers think looks better?

After I did that, I thought “Why just draw a character? Why not draw a scene in chibi style?” I decided to draw the scene from the movie where Jamie is riding his sled on a path of ice, unaware that Jack Frost is the cause of the ice.

I decided to give them mouths so it would match the original scene better.

Here is a pic of the scene in the movie:

And here is a picture that a fan of Jack Frost drew. I’m putting it here because I think it is really good. I’m not sure who drew it, but if someone could tell me who it was, I would be more than happy to credit them.

Special thanks to Stina for telling me who drew this picture. All credit to this picture goes to semokan on deviantART.

Anyway, I’m planning on doing more chibi pictures in the future. Which leads to the question, which do you awesome readers like better, my chibi pictures or my anime style pictures? Also, I’m going to be taking requests on what characters/scenes I should draw in chibi style next. However, I will not accept requests for scenes that are inappropriate. And, just another reminder, I’m still pretty slow when it comes to drawing, so it will probably take me a little while before I get your request done. But, I probably am working on it, it just takes me awhile to finish pictures. Well, I have only one question left to ask. Any requests?

Later.

P.S. For some reason, my pictures look blurry when I post them. I’m not sure how to fix this. Do any of you awesome readers have any ideas?
